Meet Jay Blain
Jay Blain is dedicated to improving education in Granite School District, bringing fresh ideas and a strong community focus. Jay was a Math and Computer Science teacher for 20.5 years in the Granite School District. He then worked for for 16.5 years in working to advocate for public education and educators. He focused on school funding and tax policy. Jay will leverage this experience to represent the residents of Granite District in District 6 in a knowledgable way. He also knows education policy and how to get things done through collaboration and partnerships. His thorough knowledge of how the legisature and state board works will also be an asset to the Granite board.

Jay Blain was a math and computer science teacher for 20 years in Granite School District on both the west and east sides of the Distric. He also spent 16 years as a public education advocate working at the legislature and the State Board of Education.

Jay has lived in the Granger area for over 38 years. Both his wife and son graduated from Granger High School.
Educational Focus
Jay knows how to work with policymakers to get things done. He has an extensive knowledge of school finance and has taught many educators across the state how to read district budgets and follow the money.
